Civil Ceremonies

"If music be the food of love...play on"...... Make the most of your special day with a professional performance by Jill Neenan.

Civil Wedding Ceremonies are becoming more popular than ever and there are such an increasing number of beautiful venues now available to you. Music can add more substance to a civil ceremony and can compliment the location you have chosen immeasurably.

Even though you are not allowed by law to have any religious music during a civil ceremony, the choice available to you is very extensive. Accompaniment depends very much on the location and the facilities it has to offer. If there is a piano I would use my own accompanist, if not, I can provide a portable digital piano. If there are no facilities available, backing tracks can always be used.

With civil ceremonies you do not have much time to ‘set the scene’ prior to the formalities beginning, therefore this is a wonderful place to have a song performed. It gives a memorable start to proceedings and gives you a little more time to collect yourself. You could also have a song sung prior to taking your vows.

The most frequent place for a song to be performed is once you have taken your vows, to reflect upon this magical moment. Alternatively you could have a song during the signing of the register which will also allow time for some photographs to be taken.

As the Bride and Groom exit there is an opportunity to have a final uplifting or romantic song, something that may be especially poignant to yourselves or your family.
